Orders and Delivery

The minimum order is $30 (excluding delivery)

The delivery fee to all suburbs is $8.50.  However if the total of your order (produce only) is $80 or more than delivery is free!! (excludes meat etc).  Click here for more information on how our delivery fee works.

We accept orders online via our website, 24 hours, 7 days per week.

For next day delivery, your order needs to be placed by 1.30pm. Any orders placed after 1.30pm will be collected from the markets and delivered the next working day. At exactly 1.30pm an automated shopping report is generated. The fruit and vegetables are packed at the markets to your individual order, carefully checked to our high standards, and delivered to your door the same day.

At this stage, deliveries are 5 days per week, Monday to Friday to your door or even your place of business. There are no time slots for delivery at this stage.  If you desperately need your produce delivered by a certain time on the day of delivery please note this on the delivery instructions.  We will do our best to accommodate your request or let you know if it is not possible and make other arrangements with you. In most cases it will be possible.

As we get busier we may need to divide Canberra into North and South and create delivery times and/or delivery days but we will cross that bridge when we come to it. 

If you order after 1.30pm on Thursday through to 1.30pm on Sunday, your order will be delivered on Monday (unless it is a public holiday in which case delivery will be the next working day). If you order after 1.30pm on Sunday your order will be delivered on Tuesday. Keep in mind that you can specify your own delivery date. For example you can order on Wednesday and ask for Friday delivery.  This means you will not accidentally miss the 1.30pm cut off for Friday delivery.

Not home to accept delivery?

If you will not be home to accept delivery, please specify this when ordering so extra care to keep your produce cool for an extended period can be taken. When checking out, you will have the option to hire a cool box for just 0.50c. We strongly recommend you do this to keep your produce cool, fresh and protected from animals or bugs until you arrive home. Please ensure you leave this box out for collection each time you order so that we can replace it with a full cooler box of produce. For more information about this option see the FAQ Page.

What is Automatic Ordering?

Automatic Ordering is for customers who order the same produce each time they order.  Let us know what produce you want in your regular order and how often you would like it delivered.  Then it automatically arrives on your doorstep or place of business , all without you having to lift a finger!  You can add to, remove from or cancel your regular order with a simple email or phone call to us any time before the day of delivery. 

How does Automatic Ordering work?

There are 3 very simple steps to get you started:

  1. Let us know by email to info@vegiestoyourdoor.com.au that you are interested in receiving a regular automatic delivery.
  2. We will then phone you to confirm and chat about the details (like payment method, when you want to receive delivery etc)
  3. Place an order through our website containing only the items that you want to receive in your regular automatic delivery.  This order becomes the order we refer to when packing each of your automatic orders.

What if I want to make changes to my Automatic Order?

Automatic Ordering is a service we have decided to offer to make your life a little bit easier therefore if you want to add to your order or remove something from your order (either temporarily or permanently) it is as easy as letting us know by phone or email before the day of delivery. 

What if I am going on holidays?

Simply let us know by phone or email and we will put your Automatic Orders on hold until you return from holiday.

What if I try this Automatic Ordering service and it turns out I dont like it?

You can cancel this service at any time by letting us know by phone or email and you can go back to ordering through our website at times that suit you.  There is no pressure or cost involved with making any changes to your Automatic Order. 

What happens if certain produce on my Automatic Order is unavailable?

Where possible we will make a suitable substitution (eg replace butternut pumpkin with another type of pumpkin)  If suitable substitution is not that obvious (eg Avocado) we will place a note with your order and will of course not charge you for the missing item.  You can of course instruct us to never substitute if you prefer. 

How do I pay for my Automatic Order?

We suggest you provide us with your credit card details so that we can process your order through our secure payment facility (please note this is absolutely no different to handing your credit card over at a shop or making payments using your credit card over the phone).  We suggest this method of payment to ensure the service remains as convenient as possible for you.  We are of course more than happy to accept COD if you prefer but this will mean you need to be home to accept and pay for each delivery. 

The cost of fruit and vegetables can go up and down quite a bit sometimes, so how will I know how much I have spent each time you process my Automatic Order?

We can handle this in either of two ways (and it is completely up to you).

  1. You tell us that you want your complete order regardless of the cost for that week; or
  2. You set an upper limit for the amount you want to spend.  This is a great option for budgeting however the down side is that occasionally you may not receive your complete order.  Our suggestion is to allow a $15-$20 window to cover fluctuations in price.  We can discuss this over the phone when we call you.
